How to Specify a Pultruded FRP Profile
A practical checklist covering application, geometry, material system, quantity and delivery requirements.

Use this checklist to turn a general profile request into a scope that can be reviewed, quoted and reordered more clearly.
Start with the application
Explain where the profile will work, what function it performs, what it is exposed to and how it connects to the surrounding structure. Dimensions alone do not define the material system or project suitability.
Describe the service environment
List moisture, named chemicals and concentration, temperature, UV exposure, cleaning conditions and any electrical, fire/smoke or project-standard requirements. Identify which exposures are continuous and which are occasional.
Define geometry and structural inputs
Provide the cross-section, wall thickness, cut length, critical tolerance, load, span, support spacing, allowable deflection and connection details supplied by the responsible designer. A DWG, DXF or dimensioned PDF reduces interpretation risk.
Include commercial and delivery inputs
State the sample need, first-order quantity, expected annual demand, target schedule, processing, packing length and destination. These inputs influence tooling, production planning and export packing.
