When custom pultrusion is relevant

Start with the function the cross-section must perform.

A custom profile is useful when it removes an assembly problem or creates repeatable geometry. It is not automatically the right answer for every low-volume part.

01Standard profiles do not fitThe mating interface, installation envelope or required function needs a dedicated cross-section.
02A special cross-section is requiredRibs, channels, lips, grooves or multiple functions need to be combined into one repeatable part.
03A metal or wood part needs reviewThe goal may be lower weight, corrosion resistance or fewer assembled pieces—not a like-for-like size copy.
04A private OEM component is neededThe part requires controlled geometry, surface, colour, cut length and reorder identification.
05Repeat supply mattersThe drawing, approved sample and inspection points need to remain clear across later orders.

The section, material and supply detail must be reviewed together.

Changing the resin, reinforcement or wall distribution can affect feasibility, cost and validation. The drawing is the beginning of the technical brief—not the complete brief.

Separate required dimensions from preferences.

Mark the dimensions and properties that control assembly, safety or customer acceptance. This helps the feasibility review focus on what cannot change.

Responsibility boundaryHaikuo reviews pultrusion manufacturability and the stated supply scope. Final structural design, code approval and certified engineering calculations remain with the buyer or project engineer when required.
